How to Use This Marks Calculator

This calculator is designed for Indian school and college students. Enter each subject's name, the marks you obtained, and the maximum marks for that subject. The calculator adds up your totals and shows your aggregate percentage and CBSE-equivalent grade automatically.

Adding subjects: Click "Add Subject" to add more rows. You can add up to 10 subjects. Use the ✕ button to remove a subject row.

Board exams (CBSE/ICSE/State): Enter marks for all 5 or 6 subjects. For best-of-5 calculation (used by many colleges), simply remove the lowest-scoring subject row before calculating.

Competitive exam marks: For exams like UPSC Mains (each paper has different maximum marks), just enter each paper name and its marks/maximum. The aggregate percentage will be calculated correctly.

Frequently Asked Questions

How to calculate total marks percentage? +
Add all marks obtained, divide by total maximum marks, multiply by 100. Example: 450 out of 500 = 90%. This calculator does it automatically for you.
How are grades calculated in CBSE? +
CBSE uses: A1 (91–100%), A2 (81–90%), B1 (71–80%), B2 (61–70%), C1 (51–60%), C2 (41–50%), D (33–40%), E (below 33% — fail).
What are the passing marks in CBSE? +
Students must score at least 33% in each subject and in aggregate to pass CBSE Class 10 and 12 exams.
